Prospectus – Please call with any questions!
Deadline for entry: August 29, 2005. The
Alumni Art Show will be hung beginning Friday, October 6, 2005 and
exhibit through October 23, 2005.
How to Enter
The entry fee is fifteen ($15.00) dollars for up to three (3) pieces.
All entries must be 35-mm slides or jpegs of original artwork, conceived and
created by the entrant. Odd-sized glass or metal slide frames will not be
accepted, and slides will not be returned (so have a duplicate made for your
own files). You may enter work in any and all categories; you may
enter up to three (3) slides. The entry(ies) must be accompanied by an
entry form (see below).
All notified entrants should make arrangements to drop
off their accepted pieces to Eileen Coladarci (203-744-1949) during the week
of October 3rd. The “Meet the Artists” Reception is Tuesday, October
11 from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM. The show will be taken down October 23.
A limited number of display cases and pedestals are
available. Entrants may provide their own case or pedestal if desired. All
work must be hanger ready. Eileen Coladarci will handle all aspects of the
hanging and is available to answer or find answers to all questions. Each
entrant may submit up to three (3) pieces of art.
Preparing Your Slides
Slides should be labeled individually and legibly and should not be taped
together. Jpegs must include title and dimensions, note the category you are
entering, and the medium you used to create the work. Each submitted
slide must include the following information: a) On the front, note the
category you are entering, and the medium you used to create the work
("front" is the side that faces you when you hold it up to the light to be
viewed). b) Also on the front, print the artwork's title, size, and top and
bottom directions. c) On the back, write your name, address and phone
number. Only properly marked slides will be accepted.
Entry Form
Entries must be accompanied by an official entry form with an entry
fee check. You may mail all your entries in one large envelope as long
as slides for each category are grouped together in smaller envelopes
inside. You may also enter by email but please follow up with a phone
call (203) 744-1949 to ensure receipt.
Deadline
All entries must be postmarked no later than August 29, 2005. All
entrants will be notified by September 9, 2005.
Judging and Notification
Entries will be pre-judged by a selection committee. All properly prepared
entries will be viewed and judged. The decision of the committee will be the
final decision.
