Maryann Meken-Silvestri  (1976)

Maryann Meken-Silvestri is a fused glass artist who works at The Eclectic Glaziery, her studio in Danbury, CT.  Maryann invited me to her studio to explain the process she uses to create her glass art.

A former Danbury Public School art teacher, she holds a BS from the University of Bridgeport and an MS from WestConn.  Continuing education includes classes taken at San Francisco Stained Glassworks II, Brookfield Craft Center and Banks Art Studio. She taught at fused glass techniques at Arrowmont Craft School in Gatlinburg Tenn.

Her work has been exhibited at the Brookfield Craft Center, The Danbury Public Library, Scott-Fanton Museum, Richter House, Bethel Arts Junction, The Firehouse Gallery of Milford, The White Silo Gallery in Sherman, Western CT State University and the Washington Art Association in Washington Depot, CT.  Maryann was chosen as a finalist in the Design category of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra Art Violin Project in 2007 with her violin,  “Ilios
