Saturday, September 26 was an afternoon to celebrate the
arts with  five well-known area artists who are extraordinarily talented. Included in the tour are WestConn alumni and art professors in their New Fairfield studios.

The tour began at The Barn Gallery, a gallery and frame shop owned by Sue Newton '81.

Sue signs up two tour participants.

Mary Lou Alberetti shows some sketches that provide ideas for her larger ceramic pieces but are also art by themselves.

She provides a demonstration of how the clay is cut.

and shows some of her finished 3 dimensional works.

Once finished the pieces are stored for future shows.
Mary Lou and Bob share the space in the studio. The studio has storage areas as well as work areas. Mary Lou has a large kiln to fire her ceramics.

and explains the processes used to create his paintings.

She shows the closet space and explains that the floor of the upstairs studio is specially designed for use for exercise classes as well as for her art classes.  Plonia teaches watercolor classes for WestConn every summer in this area.

Moving downstairs, the tour participants see finished work and a table set up for adding details.

Her paintings and collages are on the walls and lined up
along the floor by type.
