Alicia Ammirata '03 attended the University of Bridgeport from Fall 2003-Spring 2004 after graduating from WestConn and received her MS in education. She is teaching elementary art and says, "I get to be creative every day."  She is a certified teacher in art and elementary education.

Sheri DiPalma '03 wants to continue enhancing her graphic design skills.  Besides being a production documentation specialist at Belimo Air Contols in Danbury, CT she is a freelance artist, working on newsletters, flyers, tote bags and shirts.  At Bulimo she takes digital pictures , works with Microsoft Photo Editor and writes copy for Standard Operating Procedures.  She is a girl scout leader and works with the school store at Rogers Park Middle School.  Sheri plans to attend the University of Bridgeport next year to obtain a teaching degree in elementary education.

Allison Iacovacci '03 is the Graphic Arts Coordinator/Designer at Church Hill Classics in Danbury

Rahel Kopta '03  is an artist and educator living in New York. Her oversized gestural works have been likened to batik work, graffiti, and Abstract Expressionism. Her work often references the figure, plant forms, natural landscapes, and urban cityscapes. When working abstractly, Rachel intuitively paints shapes in arrangements which suggest multiple scenes/objects simultaneously. She also works realistically, and is inspired by the presence of the natural world within cities. She exhibits frequently in both group and solo exhibitions in CT and New York. Rachel additionally receives commissions for murals and portraits.

To relax on the weekends Rachel runs in the woods.  Rachel works at the United Nations International School in the science lab as an assistant and teaches Nature-inspired art workshops seasonally at Great Hollow Wilderness School, Norwalk Community College, and Escape to the Arts: Center for Arts and Humanities. She has two upcoming art projects for Spring 2006: to finish a mural she started last summer of an African landscape (Danbury, CT) and to complete a portrait she has donated for a fundraising auction at Sotheby's which benefits The United Nations International School.

 Caroline Korth 03 is focusing on her painting with plans to continue her studies in the masters program  She wants to paint, show and possibly teach. 

Originally from Baltimore, MD, Caroline graduated from Gettysburg College in PA with a major in English.  She is living in Newtown, CT with her husband and four children.

Aimee Nielsen '03 is very interested in corporate marketing.  So far she has used her skills at the Museum Company and the Harley Davidson retail store.  She worked on the designs and display layouts.

Chris Parker '03 graduated as a music major in 2003 and now tours with Tof-E & The Pussycats, playing the drums, recording jazz and studio music.  He played at the 2004 Detroit Jazz Festival coming home with a live recording.  He has also played at the opera with Placido Domingo.  Chris graduated with a BFA from The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, NY in 1970 and continues to show his art regionally.  He can be reached at parkerdrum@aol.com

Letitia Wallace '03 is a wacky, wild and talented graphic designer and photographer based in Providence, RI. She works in the creative department for the hospitality industry's leading provider of integrated media systems where she designs multimedia solutions for international luxury hotels.

Her out-going flair and love for music shines when she not only photographs, but also designs promotional materials for bands and concerts, including Todd Martin, Matt Nathanson, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers and the non-profit organization Rock for a Remedy.

Sandra Adams '04 is a graduate from Western CT State University with a BA in graphic design and strong interest in photography.  She is proficient in Photoshop, QuarkXPress, and Illustrator with some background in other multimedia programs. Adela (Wharton) Ferris '04 is a Graphic Design Graduate and a talented Photographer. She would like to utilize both photography and her graphic design skills in her career.

Marcella Kovac '04 is working for a small design firm in Bethel, CT called the ROC Company. They do high-end design for NYC clients, such as logos/identities, brochures, business cards & letterhead, signage, advertising in mags & newspapers, websites... to name a few!

Robbin May '04 is directly responsible for art direction and graphic design concepts, and production to final phase on a variety of visual communications projects which encompass print to multi-media presentations at Summit Studios.  She also arranges for and direct all out-of-house services, such as printers, CD duplicators, animators and freelancers.  She provides art direction in house photo shoots presents concepts and designs to clients.

Nathan Meyer '04 has been doing art as long as he can remember.  He is studying for a degree in Studio arts and will then get his MFA.  He wants to become an art teacher.

While in school, he is working at Oakley Restoration as an apprentice to an antique restorer.  He has worked there for three years.

  • Hearst Interactive Studios in New York in was a web consultant and  updated an existing HTML Legacy site to facilitate a new web design format and layout.  Alpha & Beta tested an XML based content management system. Developed solutions & conventions for file storage,
    database management, image optimization and template layout design. Trained new consultants on procedures. Set benchmark for productivity within the department; poured and cleaned content at a 50% faster rate than other team members consistently. Responsible Quality Assurance on final project.

  • No big deal decorating in New York.  Eric administered and maintained existing Windows network & website including: computer maintenance & equipment configuration, search engine registration, web site publishing, optimization & graphic design.
  • Caroline Distribution in New York, New Media & Marketing Coordination he assisted in implementing web site re-design. Scanning and optimizing images for the monthly catalogue.

Mark Hopkins '05 is a Graphic Design major planning on graduating in May 2005. He spent his junior year at University of Sunderland in England. He recently spent the entire summer of 2004 traveling across Europe, 11 countries in all. When asked about life, he says "You have to be able to evolve and keep moving to remain relevant. If you're just trying to keep recreating whatever was your first success, then that's a sell-out move, 'cause you're just making a business out of it."

Jeannine Sam '05 has a BA in Illustration. She won a Purchase Award for a woodcut in 2003. Her focus is in editorial work and she works in both pastel and oils. Her inspiration comes from political and social issues in today's society. Lynn Ulman '05 is working for an advertising agency on the Bridgeport/Fairfield line, Graystone Group Advertising. She works mainly on job recruitment advertising for colleges and universities throughout the US, and even outside of the US. Lise Weller '05 said, "I have been working with various crafts all my life, but glass has always held a particular magic for me. I did stained glass for decades, and blown glass for a time, but over the past few years I have moved into fusing glass. At first I primarily did sculpture and art pieces, only experimenting with jewelry for myself, friends and family. The jewelry was immediately so popular, and the demand so great, that I decided to explore it more deeply and created my business, OMI by Lise."

Heidi Gendron '07 returned to school to pursue an art degree while raising a family.  She graduated Magna Cum Laud with a BA in Illustration. She prefers oils after working for years with colored pencil.

Currently pending submission for publication, she hopes her first book, "The Creator" will prove to be the first of many books to come. Each of the color illustrations were done with oil.

Brian Girardin '07 interned at ESPN while in school, and is working for them on their creative services design and animation team.  While at WestConn he made the Dean's list for all eight semesters and had a double major, graphic design and photography.

Deb Klein works two days a week for the Citizen News, the local newspaper in New Fairfield, Connecticut. The rest of her time she runs Dreamscapes, painting murals and art work upon request.
Rita Lapati wishes to focus her art on portraiture. To achieve that, she continues to take classes in the human figure and to develop her skill in both pastels and oils.

 Kimberly Oberhammer attended WestConn but went onto Southern CT State University to get an art education degree in 2000.  She taught in the Bethel School system for a few years before moving to North Carolina where she opened a restaurant, Dixie's.

Marco Roldhan owns a company in Danbury, CT called Proud Eye specializing in graphic design, desktop publishing with an emphasis on children's publications, web development for e-commerce, multi media and outdoor advertising. Karen Vasconi is the owner of RIA Group, Ltd.  She designs and manufactures furniture and its components from its initial raw material.   Currently, they are manufacturing, marketing, selling and delivering lumber product from Russia and Siberia to European buyers. They have sold paper pulp. They are now working with several State funded railroads and additionally, they sell lumber for construction.

They are very involved with reforestation. Russia, overall, has been replanting for nearly 100 years. You can drive down a country road and see fields of larch, oak, birch, maple, and fir that is 60, 70, 80 years old. All planted in symmetrical rows - which tells you that someone took out and someone replaced. This is part of State sponsored replanting. We do not remove a tree without planting another.
