Meet Our Staff

Jonathan Pohl, Ph.D.

Dr. Pohl is a Clinical Psychologist with experience treating depression, anxiety, chemical dependence and P.T.S.D.  He has counseled students on relationship concerns, emotional difficulties, chemical dependence, as well as academic concerns.  Dr. Pohl has experience in leading groups on stress management, self-esteem, time management, depression, anxiety, and self-injurious behavior.  He is currently coordinating QPR for suicide prevention on campus.  He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, an M.S. in Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Connecticut. For his Masters in counseling, he worked at the counseling center at Southern Connecticut State University.

 

Lori Wagner, Psy.D.

Dr. Lori Wagner is the Interim Director of the Counseling Center. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and completed her undergraduate studies at Binghamton University. Dr. Wagner has also taught courses as an Adjunct faculty member for undergraduate and graduate students. She is particularly interested in training and supervising counseling and psychology graduate interns. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings such as psychiatric hospitals, detention facilities, therapeutic schools, and VA medical centers. Her areas of interest include transitions, trauma, substance/alcohol use, resiliency, and relationship issues. Currently, Dr. Wagner is coordinating a Sexual Assault Response and Prevention team to address issues related to abuse, assault, and violence in the campus community.

 

Linda Donnelly

Linda Donnelly has been with Western Connecticut State University since 1993. She started as a University Assistant in the Football Office. She worked with the coaching staff for 6 ½ years before moving to the Admissions Office. Due to upward mobility she joined the Counseling Center in March 2001. She is involved in the day-to-day scheduling and management of the Center.

Glory Aguilar Blanceagle, PSY.D.
Dr. Blanceagle joined the Counseling Center in February, 2008.  She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester’s Counseling Center.  Areas of special interest include women’s issues, multicultural diversity, socio-race and out-group biases, sexual assault and incest survivors, domestic and relationship violence, bullying, substance abuse, addictions, death and bereavement.
