Master of Arts in Mathematics

400 Level Courses

With the approval of their advisor, students may use a maximum of six (6) semester hours of 400 level courses in mathematics or computer science in their programs.


Theoretical option:
a. required Mathematics courses: 9 SH from Group I
b. electives, additional MAT courses: 15 SH from Groups I, II
c. additional MAT courses: 6 SH from Groups I,II
d. thesis or written comprehensive examination

Thesis Option:
MAT 592 Independent Thesis Research in Mathematics 0-6 SH

Students must select a Thesis Advisor and Committee and have Thesis Proposal approved by the Committee and the Graduate School before registering for MAT 592.
