SPIN/SMARTS
SPIN
InfoEd’s SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network)
is the most widely used funding opportunity database in the world.
Across the globe nearly 500 institutions subscribe to the Web-based
search engine. Researchers at these institutions use SPIN as their
one-stop-shop for identifying the latest grant programs. By aggregating
sponsor information in one system, SPIN dramatically cuts search times
and substantially increases the likelihood of positive results. Program
information is presented in a standard format that allows investigators
to readily compare opportunities.
- InfoEd tracks the funding programs (e.g. research
grants; fellowships; publication support; sabbatical support;
curriculum development; etc.) of over 6,000 government, private, and
non-profit funding sources worldwide.
- Intuitive search engine allows users to query the
database with either basic keyword or advanced Boolean searches.
- The SPIN service also includes SMARTS (The SPIN
Matching And Research Transmittal Service). SMARTS is an automated
alerts system that notifies investigators of relevant new programs
that match their research interests.
- SPIN is integrated with InfoEd’s Proposal
Development module. With a single click, InfoEd can generate a new
electronic proposal template that is pre-loaded with all of the
relevant sponsor and program details from SPIN.
