Academic
Resource Mentor
Want to know more about being an ARM? Come to an info session: Monday, March 1st at 8 pm in Newbury Hall, or Wednesday, March 3rd at 8 pm in Pinney Hall Academic Resource Mentors (ARMs) are members of the Department of Housing and Residence Life at Western Connecticut State University. They play an integral role in the establishment of an academic environment in the residence halls. ARMs are academic motivators who inspire creativity, providing guidance and direction to help peers focus on their academic goals and promoting a better community. They accomplish this by their availability to students, their consistency of services, and their knowledge of the campus and its resources, including PASS members (tutors), administrators, faculty, and others who might be of assistance to the resident student population.
Returning
Students:
Room Selection Housing Deposits are now being taken for those wishing to secure a space for Fall, 2010. Deposits are due no later than March 31st in order to be eligible to participate in Room Selection for the Fall 2010 semester, which will be held in late April. You may pay your deposit in person at the Cashier's office, or on-line via EZPay. All students who wish to participate in room selection must also be registered for (and maintain registration in) at least 12 credits for the Fall 2010 semester. Due to space limitations, we will only guarantee housing to the first 890 returning students who deposit. Students who deposit after we reach that number will be placed on a waiting list, and will be placed by the department as space arises, and not during the room selection process. Room Changes: Room change requests are no longer being processed.
Meal Plan Changes: Only students living in Grasso or Pinney Halls are eligible to change their meal plans. Upgrades to the Gold 125 or Ultimate Dining plans may be made at any time during the semester, as well as the purchase of an additional Blue 75 plan. |
