Qualified Transportation Account Program
The State of Connecticut recognizes that it has become increasingly difficult to pay for transit related expenses associated with commuting to and from work. It is for this reason the Office of the State Comptroller is making the Qualified Transportation Account Program available to state employees. This program offers a tax advantage in helping you pay for qualified commuter expenses.

Eligibility: Full-time state employees that commute to and from work using public transportation or incur parking expenses.

Advantages: This program lets you pay for the eligible transportation and parking expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Program Parameters: IRS (monthly) allowable limits set for 2009.

Enrollment:

  • Employees are allowed to enroll into the program on a monthly basis.
  • To enroll employees must fill out a QTA Compensation Reduction Agreement form.
  • Enrollment is made by contacting the third party administrator, Progressive Benefit Solutions, who manages this program for the state.
