Tenure-Track Faculty Position 

Academic Year 2010-11

 

Western Connecticut State University’s Department of Marketing is pleased to announce, contingent upon available funding, the availability of a tenure track Assistant Professor position, beginning Fall 2010.

 

Western Connecticut State University (WestConn) is one of four comprehensive universities that comprise the Connecticut State University System. Qualifications: Primary consideration will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D., D.B.A. or comparable   doctoral degree from an AACSB  or   EQUIS accredited   program. Qualified  candidates will also  have  a  record of  outstanding   teaching performance  in  marketing courses and will have published  three (3)  refereed  journal articles listed  in  Cabell’s Directory within the  past five  years. Secondary   consideration  will  be  given  to  candidates  holding  doctoral  degrees  from  non AACSB  or   EQUIS accredited  programs  who    have  published 3  referred  journal articles listed  in  Cabell’s  Directory  within the  past five years or  to    ABDs  in  Marketing,  preferably from  an  AACSB  or  EQUIS  accredited  school , who  expect  to   complete their  degree  by  June, 2010 and who  meet  all   other  criteria.

 

Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and possibly MBA level courses.  Preferred candidates will also have related industry or consulting experience and a record of university service.  Candidates should have a strong experiential orientation towards teaching, with a demonstrated ability to integrate real-time, real-world projects into their courses. Teaching and/or work experience in both sales management and marketing management is desired.  Preferred candidates should possess an understanding of global issues and their relevancy to marketing as demonstrated through one or more of the following:  current research stream, courses taught, conferences/workshops attended and work experience.
