Karli Spera named Little East Conference Co-Player of the Week

Karli Spera averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists to help Western Connecticut extend its win streak to 13 games this past week with a pair of Little East victories.

The native of Waterford, Conn. shot 46.9 percent (15-for-32) from the field, while making all eight of her attempts from the charity stripe.

She scored 12 of her 21 points in the second half as the Colonials outscored Southern Maine 42-15 to remain undefeated in conference action.

Earlier in the week, Spera also pumped in 21 points in a win over Rhode Island College. 

Rhode Island College senior guard Denise Scott (Yonkers, N.Y.) was named Co-Player of the Week along with Spera. She averaged 21 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 67 percent (14-for-21) from the field.
