UMass Boston women's tennis beaten by WestConn, 8-1

QUINCY, MA (Sep. 19) — The University of Massachusetts Boston women’s tennis team was defeated by Western Connecticut State University, 8-1, today in its Little East Conference opener in a match played on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. The Beacons fall to 2-2 overall, including 0-1 in LEC play, while the Colonials improve to 3-1 and 1-0.
UMass Boston’s lone point came at number one doubles where junior Carolina Gonzalez (Bridgewater, MA) improved to a perfect 4-0 in dual match doubles action and combined with freshman Anitra Kloczewiak (Newton, MA) to take down Lauren Post (Danbury, CT) and Jenna Kosiba (Bristol, CT), 9-7.
The Beacons will be in action again on Tuesday, September 22 when they travel to North Dartmouth, MA to take on Little East Conference foe University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at 3:30 p.m., while Western Connecticut State hosts LEC rival Rhode Island College on September 22 at 4:00 p.m.
