Stacy Slater
Head Coach
Third Season

Former WestConn number one singles and doubles standout Stacy Slater took over the helm of the Colonials’ women’s tennis program in August 2006.

In her first season, the Colonials went 5-7 overall, 3-4 in the Little East Conference and finished in fifth place at the annual LEC Tournament. A year ago, WestConn went 3-7 overall.

Slater’s collegiate playing career at WestConn ended in the fall of 2003. That season she went 6-4, the majority of the time at #1 or #2 singles in individual matches and 7-3 at number one doubles.

Last spring, she completed her sixth season as the Girl’s Tennis Coach at nearby Danbury High School.

During the summer of 2008, Slater was the Assistant Director of Melendez Tennis Camps in Bethel, Brookfield and New Fairfield, CT.

In 2003, Slater earned her Tennis Professional certicate and two years later was certified as a Coach for the state of Connecticut.

Slater was recently re-hired onto the professional teaching starr and is an Assistant Manager of Sport & Wellness (formerly Beaver Brook Tennis Club) in Danbury.

Slater was an office manager and tennis instructor for New Milford Tennis and Swim Club from 2003 to 2005.

She and doubles partner Susan Brand, of Danbury, earned a 3.5 rating and went undefeated for the 2004 and 2005 seasons as members of the Middlebury Racquet Club’s Racquettes.
