Faculty Biographical Sketches
Laura Hunnibell, Department of Nursing
Ms. Laura Hunnibell is an Assistant Professor who joined the WCSU Nursing faculty in the Fall of 2004. Laura received her BSN from Bluffton College and her MSN and Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from Southern Connecticut State University. She is currently Board-Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She came to WCSU with 17 years of practice as a Registered Nurse and six years as a Nurse Practitioner. She served three years of active duty as an Officer in the United States Air Force. She previously worked as a Nurse Practitioner at The Connecticut Hospice. Recently, Ms. Hunnibell has served as Courtesy Faculty for Yale University School of Nursing’s graduate students in an oncology practice setting. Her primary specialties include pain and symptom management in the oncology and hospice patients. She continues professional employment as a Nurse Practitioner in a private oncology practice in Stamford, Connecticut.
