Faculty Biographical Sketches
Jody Rajcula, Department of Physical Education
Ms. Jody Rajcula, who is a Professor of Health Promotion and Exercise Sciences and Department Chair, obtained both her bachelors and her master’s degrees from Southern Connecticut State University in Physical Education and Exercise Physiology. Since joining the Department of Physical Education and Athletics at WestConn in the Fall of 1981, Ms. Rajcula has been active in both areas. While serving as the Head Coach of Women’s Basketball, she has also taught several Physical Education activity classes. Her passion for basketball can be seen through her success as a coach and as an advocate for the sport through her involvement with numerous regional and national sports committees. Most recently, she has devoted time, enhancing the opportunity for young girls and boys in all sports both through clinics and camps. For the past three years, she served as Program Director for the NCAA’s YES Clinics (i.e., Youth Education through Sport), which brought over 500 area youths to campus. Additionally, Ms. Rajcula has been a summer camp director serving over 400 kids each year, and most recently, developed the community based Kid’s Night Out/Kid’s Week Off Program which brings over 1,500 area youths to WestConn’s campus to participate in various activities.
