Goal 1 - meet the technology needs of students

  1. Provide state-of-the-art computing facilities
    1. Labs and 24-hour facilities
    2. Adequate staffing and hours of operation
    3. Create an environment where students can experiment with and investigate instructional technology
  2. Provide access to workshops and tutorials
    1. Student Technology Training Center (STTC)
  3. Communications systems
    1. University-wide web based e-mail 
    2. Expand software offerings in the labs and classrooms
    3. Campus-wide information portal (WestConnduit)
    4. Mobile access for personal and university computers
      1. Wired
      2. Wireless
      3. Remote access
    5. File storage and sharing services
    6. ResNet
    7. Online access to student records, registration, billing and payment, and degree auditing with Banner Self-Serve
    8. Web sites for individuals and groups 
    9. Provide standardized technology in all classrooms, as defined by the Information Technology Committee (ITC)
  4. Act as a resource for students (individuals and organizations)
    1. Where applicable, provide hardware, software, training, and help-desk support
  5. Work with departments and divisions to align their plans with the University’s IT strategic plan and assist in implementing them
