Pam McDaniel
Assistant Professor [Acting/Directing/Theatre History/Play Production]
Pam comes to WestConn from San Francisco where she was the majority owner and manager of IL TEATRO 450 and THE 450 GEARY STUDIO THATRE, near Union Square. She was a founder and artistic director of San Francisco’s Annual Working Women Festival that spotlighted outstanding female theatre artists.
Her directing includes West Coast Premiers of “Harold’s Death” by Kate Ryan, “July 7” by Donald Margulies, “Faulkner’s Bicycle” by Heather McDonald, and “Psycho Monkey” by Thomas Estler. She also worked with solo artists Cindy Hanson, Canyon Sam, Zachary Barton, and Mick Berry in the development and direction of solo shows that have played in various venues across the country.
She has staged readings of new scripts for The Bay Area Playwrights Festival, West Coast Playwrights, BRAVA! For Women in the Arts and Theatre Exchange. Her MFA in Directing is from The University of Texas-Austin with additional study at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre, London’s The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Actors Theatre of Louisville and NYC casting with Daniel Swee at The Theatre Communication Group. She previously taught acting and directing at The University of Oklahoma.
